It's really choppy and suuuuuper scribbly because I took like 30 seconds to draw each frame. Please fill in the gaps and gloss over the art with your wonderful imagination! I made it in Windows Movie Maker which is an absolutely evil program =o=

The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

I figured it was time to update, now that Christmas is over and all. The holidays went pretty nicely around here; I now have a Wii.

Seriously. Me. With a friggin' Wii. It boggles the mind. This wonderful, magical machine has had me glued to the screen at every passing opportunity, with the latest version of the Harvest Moon franchise, Animal Parade. Don't start on this game unless you want to start living in it for the next few weeks. It's even gotten into my dreams. You have been warned.

Also, a package of books from Barnes and Noble arrived at my place today. Aside from not being able to open the door (I was on the other side of the house in my pajamas

) it's been wonderful. Finally I can start reading the Dororo series, as well as continuing to follow Buddha, Black Jack and Mushishi. ...I'm a remarkable hikkomori, aren't I?

Anyway, enough about my drab little happenings. My featured artist this time around is ~ktshy. Hers is a clear, clever voice that we can all relate to; she's a true blue graphic novelist.
