Palacios test page

This page is basically a test of technique: an experiment to see how it looks when I ink a page and shade with pencils instead of tone. I found it quite satisfying, but I'd love some second opinions.

As the page itself says, this image is completely irrelevant to the actual story. I don't want to give away the entire plot of Palacios, since it's a short story and one of the most promising ones I've had in a long time. Essentially, it's a horror story about possessed birds, pseudo-angels and a charming but slightly creepy little town in southern Texas. [link]
