May Contest Entry

This is my entry for the club . It took me four or five days, on and off. And NINETY PERCENT of that was the bloody petals. People, please remind me never to paint flowers again. If you love me, you'll take the time to warn me never to do that...

Anyway, nasty production notes aside, I'm pretty happy with how this picture turned out. Still, I am a little concerned that the compositon is too experimental to be popular. Guess I'll see in due time, eh? By the way, the contest is determined by an open ballot. Just the club version to vote. *hinthint*

So... That's about it... Wish me luck-hey, the prize is well worth the means. It's a paid subscription to DeviantART! And I'm goin' after it like there's no tomarrow!

Oh, and I'll give ten bucks to anyone who can figure out the heavy symbolism behind the flowers. Seriously. I did a LOT of research, people. HINT: The art of symbolism in flowers is called floriography, or the "Language of Flowers". The specific species I used are called:
Dittany of Crete
Cinquefoil
Zephyr flower
Shamrock (Wood Sorrel)
Take a crack at it. I'll give something nice to the person who figures it out!

EDIT: This just in... the contest has been won! ~motsumi has deciphered the flowery, girly code! This wonderful young floriographer discovered the meaning dead-on, and wins a free chibi commision of their choosing. I'll probably throw together more silly little contests like this, so check back every now and then. Love!!!
