This rough and possibly stillborn story, Meager Cure, featured a little girl named Farren who, due to genetic anomaly, could survive in the post-apocalyptic wasteland. Even though the possibility of finding someone with the technology to decode her amazing ability would be nigh impossible, two people have dedicated themselves to searching. They feel like Farren might be one of the most important people in the entire world, if her gift could be harnessed. So they've taken off on an impossible task, endlessly hunting for a way to utilize this finding. It's a highly improbably mission; one equatable with Don Quixote's battle with the windmill.
This picture's full of references to the novel: windmills, a damsel, a hero on his red horse aided by a squire atop a donkey, etc. The scanner completely killed the shading I bludgeoned into this background. In person, you can see that the sky above them is supposed to be yellowish, indicating sunrise or sunset. Also, the horse's fur looks a lot shinier face-to-face.
